With the death of Anthony Bourdain today and the posting of so many, “If you need help, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255” I have felt a frustration that is difficult to reconcile.
YES – this is a hugely important thing. That number needs to be there. In front of people. And available. And YES, it is a good and important service.
But there is so much more we can do, on an individual basis.
Read about some of the tiniest things, the bigger things and the things we may not even know had an impact. THIS is where the real power is.
Thank you to Ana Marie Cox for all she does.
A down-home, common-sense approach to LIVING, no matter what you are living with. This stage 4 cancer LIVE-r (me) wholeheartedly endorses this RT from Kerri!!! Worry and regret/guilt are the lies that fear tells us.

I had a devastating miscarriage in 2001. I felt so lost, alone, hormonal, & empty & then Mother's Day arrived. I went to church anyway, dreading the day. A dear friend came up, gave me a mother/baby charm, used my baby's name, & changed the course of my grief. #livethroughthis
Great post from @Active_Minds about how we need to go beyond posting the Crisis Line Number. Reach out to your friends and family, ask them how they're doing, and be there to listen.

Travel and tell no one. Live a true love story & tell no one. Live a happily & tell no one. People ruin beautiful things.
This is so important. #LiveThroughThis
I just saw a friend post about their struggle with suicide, and a quote in their story was “I came to realize that I didn’t want to die. I just wanted my life as I knew it to end.” I think that sentence is so important. Your life can always take a different path and direction.
