What a great question! Caught me a little off guard…
Addiction taught me how easy it is to have a problem. How hard it is to find a solution. It taught me that there are varying types of addiction, and that many if not most cases are rooted in something a lot deeper than the addiction itself.
It taught me that people care. That so many people will help. That too many people don’t understand it. That stigma helps NO ONE.
Addiction has taught me that life is still … available. That it can be beaten.
It has taught me that helping others helps ourselves.
