Love alone cannot “cure” depression… but holy wow, does it ever help!
It is important to remember that depression is chemically based. And though love will in fact have positive effects on dopamine etc, it does not preclude your seeking medical help as well.
How will you know if it is helping? If you are spending time and able to focus on someone’s love for you, or your love for them? You are helping your brain build on the elements it needs to feel better. So – if you’re feeling better? It is working!
